Live Edge Counter made from 2 wood slabs from a Naples Park, FL removal of a Live Oak. Bowtie is also from this Live Oak and it stabilizes the bark inclusion. There are 2 large dovetails to join the wood slabs end to end.
It has highly distinctive figure and grain not typical of Oak. FL Live Oak has a unique grain pattern in contrast to other Oak species. We enjoyed this project because we have experienced the full story of this tree from the removal to milling it, kiln drying it, creating & installing this Live Edge Counter.
